Burleigh ware 2 handled pottery loving cup c. 1940’s – 1950’s made by Burleigh ware potteries in Stoke on Trent England. This loving cup depicts relief moulded portraits of both Sir Winston Churchill of England and president Franklin D. Roosevelt from the United States of America.
The words ‘Champions of Democracy‘ appear above the portraits.
Probably made to commemorate the alliance or ‘Atlantic charter‘ forged between the 2 countries during world war 2.
Presented in excellent original condition with no chips or cracks. The gold trimming is intact, and its only showing a small amount of crazing, commensurate with its age.
