19th century French aide d’ Memoire or Carnet du Bal pique work tortoiseshell note pad inlayed with gold silver and abalone shell. Five ivory pages and a gold and silver pencil. Was carried in the ladies purse for writing notes or the names of suitors or dance partners at the ball.

In good condition for its age, there is a small chip to the tortoiseshell back, as shown in the photos. There is no damage to any of the ivory pages.
