RIDGWAYS Royal Vistas DUNEDIN New Zealand
As early as 1792, the Ridgway brothers produced quality earthenwares in Shelton, Staffordshire, England.
The Royal Vistas Ware series was created on a gold to brown pottery with brown ransfers. It was made in the 1890’s to the 1910’s The series features street scenes, famous buildings and landscapes and sold as souvenir ware.
This plate depicts Princes Street in Dunedin New Zealand which is said to be the Edinburgh in the south.
Condition is good with the usual light crazing typical of this range with the thick rich glaze that was used on this range. The gold border has some wear commensurate with age.
