As early as 1792, the Ridgway brothers produced quality earthenwares in Shelton, Staffordshire, England.

The Royal Vistas Ware series was created on a gold to brown pottery with brown transfers. It was made from the 1890’s to the 1910’s. The series features street scenes, prominent buildings and landscapes and were sold as souvenir ware.

This plate depicts Mount Egmont an active volcano on the west coast of the North Island of New Zealand.

Condition is good with the plate showing light crazing and some wear to the gold border which is commensurate with the age of the item.
