Early 20th century Royal Doulton earthenware shipping ashtray made exclusively for the Orient Steam Navigation Co. Impressed Doulton mark to the base and O.S.N. Co with the Orient line logo of the anchor with O N in a ring of twisted rope to the front. The ashtray is quite heavy, weighing 750 grams helping to maintain stability on the high seas. Orient line became P & O in 1960.

The ashtray is in good condition with no chips cracks or repairs.
