Royal Doulton character figure Tuppence a bag HN2320 this edition to the popular street vendors series was probably inspired by the ladies in London’s Trafalgar Square who sold bags of corn for feeding the pigeons. The figure was introduced shortly after the release of the popular musical Mary Poppins where Julie Andrews sung the song feed the birds, tuppence a bag.
