Shorter and Sons Toby jug The Duchess of Plaza-Toro from the comic opera by Gilbert and Sullivan.This was modeled on Ella Holman, a performer with the D’Oyly Carte Company between 1937 and 1951 as the Duchess of Plaza-Toro in The Gondoliers.

The figure is in good condition with no chips cracks or repairs, there is crazing commensurate with age.
