An outstanding example of Rouge Royale Carltonware. Standing an impressive 480mm tall, it is decorated in the ‘Spider Web’ pattern, one of the Art Deco lustre ware styles introduced in the 1920’s.
Profusely decorated with spider webs, butterflies, dragonflies , foliage and flowers in a country field. Hand painted and decorated with applied jewelled enamel work.
The lid is decorated in an oriental design ,on the top in a commanding position sits a gilded foo dog.
Spider web is attributed to the designer Irene Robertson.
This piece bears the ‘Rouge Royale’ mark

Excellent condition with no chips cracks or repairs.
